Legal
Legal French tutoring — the language of the file, not a law degree
Legal French is a register: the contract, the courrier, the hearing, the way a lawyer asks a question. We tutor that language 1 on 1. We do not replace your counsel, draft your acte, or sit your exam for the bar.
This is the job if
The text in front of you is legal, and English is a risk.
- Professionals who read or write French legal documents
- Students in law or a French programme that includes droit
- You need the vocabulary and the spoken meeting, not a tourist pack
A legal-French lesson
Your document or your oral. You produce. We correct the French that was hiding the idea.
- 50 minutes, 1 on 1, live video
- Confidentiality: do not send secrets you should not share; redact if you must
- Say the date of the hearing, exam, or meeting on WhatsApp
Bring the kind of text you actually meet
A clause, a letter, a pleading, a course polycop. We unpack the sentence, the connector, the verb that changes the duty. You say the oral version: explaining the file, asking a precise question, holding a call with counsel. Abstract “legal French 101” without your documents is a weaker hour.
What this is not
Not legal advice. Not a translation agency for a closing tomorrow. Not a guarantee you will pass a French law exam. If the need is school droit as a lycée subject, FLS can hold that. If the need is this week’s professional file, stay here.
Register
Written legal French is not how you order coffee. Spoken legal French is still vous, still precise, still human enough that the other person keeps talking. We train both. We will not teach you to sound like a 19th-century judgment unless that is the text.
