Homework

French homework help — the door, not the whole hour

Homework is why most families write. It is a bad lesson if it is the only thing we do. We finish what is due, then we make the student say it out loud so tomorrow’s class is not another blank page.

Book this if

The cahier is open, the student is stuck, and you do not want a silent hour of you doing it for them.

  • Collège or lycée, or a French programme that sets real devoirs
  • The work is late, messy, or copied without understanding
  • You want a person on the call, not a worksheet PDF

A homework-first lesson

The due work, then one thing they will have to say. Clear corrections. English only when the instruction itself is the wall.

  • 50 minutes, live video, 1 on 1
  • The year’s subjects, not a conversation booklet
  • We will say no if the student cannot sit a real call

Tonight’s exercise is the start

Bring the page. We unblock the instruction, the tense, the text. The student writes or speaks the answer — we do not dictate a perfect copy they cannot defend in class. If the exercise is a trap, we say so and still get it done.

Then we spend the rest of the hour on what school will actually test

An oral, a contrôle, the next chapter. Homework that never becomes speech is how students pass the evening and fail the term. FLS is the year they are in, not a generic “French club.”

Parents

On the free intro, yes. After that the student works. A short note if you ask. Hovering on every weekly call usually makes a teenager smaller, not better.
